How do I set up access through Shibboleth/OpenAthens for my organisation?

To configure federated access for your organisation through Shibboleth or OpenAthens, you must have an administrator account and then follow the steps below; If you do not have an administrator account, we recommend you look at the article here.

1. Log into Cambridge Core with your admin account at https://www.cambridge.org/core/login

 

2. Click on My account in the top-right corner.

3. Go to Access and authentication and then click on Shibboleth.

4. In the text field, enter your Shibboleth ID(s) in the format affiliation@domain and click on Save.

Examples:

member@example.edu

student@example.ac.uk

staff@example.com

To remove a Shibboleth ID, click on Delete.

If you are unsure of what your domain or affiliation(s) are, please get in touch with your institution’s IT team or your Identity Provider.

Should you encounter any issues with your authentication once configured, please submit a Diagnostics form here.

Notes

If your system requires a proxy IP to work, or if you would like to receive a WAYFLess URLs to facilitate your patrons’ authentication on our websites, please provide your proxy IP or EntityID respectively via a Diagnostics form here.
